Couple’s behavior not par for the course

Golf can be a rather unpleasant sport.

Just ask the cops who had to break up a fight between livid lovers who used a golf club to settle their score in the 700 block of Van Ness Avenue.

The officers were called to the dispute around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, police said. A witness told them a woman began throwing items out of her car and yelling at a man to get out. When the woman grabbed a golf club, the man stripped it from her and began striking the car with it, police said.

Looking to stay on par, the woman snatched the golf club from the man and struck him with it, police said. Cops “observed a large welt on the man’s elbow,” police said.

The woman was arrested, police said. Medics treated the man’s injuries at the scene, they said.

Sadly, the challenging game of golf became too frustrating for the couple.

“The officers located the golf club in a nearby garbage can,” cops said.
