A couple was brutally assaulted and robbed outside a Fillmore Street nightclub on Sunday, police said.

The two victims, a 28-year-old man and 27-year-old woman, were on the 1300 block of Fillmore Street about 2 a.m. when one of at least three male suspects attempted to ask the woman out in front of her boyfriend.

The male victim and the suspect got into an argument that escalated into a fight, with the suspect and his two cohorts stomping on and kicking the man as he lay on the ground, police said. During the assault, the woman's purse was taken as well.

The male victim sustained a broken nose and jaw and lost some teeth, but the injuries were not life-threatening.

The three suspects fled the scene of the attack, but one was apprehended in the 1100 block of Fillmore Street based on a witness description, police Officer Tracy Turner said.

Dee Andre Bolton, 27, of San Francisco was booked on charges of attempted homicide, a probation violation and burglary, Turner said.

The remaining two suspects are still at large and were described as men aged 25 to 30.

Anyone with further information on this assault is encouraged to call police at (415) 575-4444 or text at TIP411 with SFPD at the start of the message.
