Cop gets run over during traffic stop

A San Francisco police officer was dragged and run over during a routine traffic stop in Hunters Point early Sunday morning, police said.

Officers pulled over a silver vehicle with paper plates about 4:30 a.m. near Hudson Avenue and Whitney Young Circle. When they made contact with the driver, he put the car in gear and fled.

During his getaway, one of the officers was dragged and his leg was run over, police said. The officer was hospitalized for his injury which was reportedly not life threatening.

No arrest has been made. The victim was described as a man in his 20s.
