Convicted sex predator faces sentencing

A convicted sex-fiend could get a year in prison for groping a San Francisco schoolgirl that he stalked for two months on city streets.

Oscar Delgado, 42, was found guilty of a child molestation charge in San Francisco Superior Court on Wednesday, San Francisco prosecutors said.

The creep followed a 16-year-old girl nearly 50 times as she walked to the bus stop on her way to school, prosecutors said.

He was arrested April 23, the day after cops say he was spotted in front of the girl’s home. Cops found him in his car with his pants and belt undone, trying to pull up his zipper, prosecutors said.

The girl came forward about being molested to police. The verdict came after a five-day trial. The jury made its decision in less than 2 hours.

When Delgado followed her, he would whistle and call at the girl, prosecutors said.

“Hey, remember me. I’m your uncle. Get in the car,” he said one time, according to authorities.

District Attorney Kamala Harris praised the victim for coming forward.

“This child’s only worry should have been how to navigate the school day ahead, not dodging the predator tailing her in his car,” Harris said in a statement.

Delgado is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 21. He faces one year in county jail, is now required to register as a sex offender for life and must stay away from the girl, prosecutors said.

Delgado has also been ordered to steer clear of anyone under age 18 pending sentencing.
