Compass provides aid to homeless families 

Compass Family Services presentation: Katie and Todd Traina, Connie Nielson and Lars Ulrich hosted a gathering in a private residence last week to provide information to supporters about Compass Family Services. The San Francisco nonprofit helps meet the needs of some 3,000 homeless and low-income Bay Area families.  

Earth-friendly fashions shine

Davies After Hours: On Friday, San Francisco Symphony presented another edition of its popular part-performance part-reception event. Patrons in the orchestra’s young professionals group, Symphonix, gathered to socialize in a clublike atmosphere and listen to music programmed to complement the symphony concert held earlier in the evening.

Spring Into Fall: The Bently Reserve was the venue for Friday’s inaugural Spring Into Fall couture fashion show hosted by Amber Marie Bently. An environmentally conscious-themed runway show featured pieces by seven cutting-edge designers. The event, a benefit for Coral Reef Alliance, supported environmental awareness.
