Commission retreats to tequila bar

Not to take anything away from Yoshi’s, but it looks like Tres Agaves over in Mission Bay is becoming a nice little political watering hole.

When Mayor Gavin Newsom won the Democratic nomination for lieutenant governor, he held a party at Yoshi’s, a jazz venue that has benefited from millions of taxpayer dollars in bailout money. But when he won the office, the victory party was at Tres Agaves.

Now, the Entertainment Commission is having a meeting at the tequila bar and restaurant. On Jan. 8, that’s where the commission that oversees permits for amplified sound and late-night parties will hold its “retreat.” The public is invited, and with all that tequila around, we might see some spirited comments.
