Cold crook feels warm embrace of justice

This crook better reevaluate his taste in clothes.

A man was arrested Monday for trying to steal an off-duty cop’s jacket from a Castro-area business, police said.

Several off-duty officers were enjoying a night out in the 4000 block of 18th Street around 6:30 p.m. when they noticed the crook trying to pilfer the expensive coat.

When the crook realized the jig was up he attempted to flee, only to be pursued by the off-duty officers who detained the crook until on-duty Mission Station cops arrived.

The crook was booked on several felony charges, police said.
