Clerk locked in closet while thieves pilfer computers 

A clerk was locked in the closet in the business where he worked while possibly armed bandits rummaged through the place, among crimes this week.

700 block of Market Street
7:50 a.m. Tuesday

A clerk was locked in a closet while his store was robbed, cops said. The 39-year-old victim was approached from behind by an unknown man who stuck an unknown weapon into his back. The suspect went through the store with “other unknown males,” police said. When the victim finally got out of the closet, he noticed three computers were missing.

100 block of Orizaba Street
9:40 p.m. Tuesday

A couple of nasty brutes beat and robbed a 27-year-old woman, police said. The crooks snuck up behind her. One of them covered her eyes and mouth while the other punched her in the face and grabbed her purse. The creeps fled on foot.

Turk and Leavenworth streets
6:10 p.m. Tuesday

A 42-year-old woman was knocked to the ground and robbed of her purse, cops said. The suspect was described as a man in his 20s.

Waller and Ashbury streets
Sometime Sunday

A woman was robbed by a couple of thugs, cops said. The victim was robbed of her cellphone and cash. Police found the suspects nearby and arrested them. The victim recovered her property.
