City attorney will appeal term-limit court decision

The city attorney plans to appeal a court decision allowing Supervisor Michela Alioto-Pier to run for a second term in November.

Alioto-Pier is now calling “for a halt to the egregious and wasteful manner in which City Attorney Dennis Herrera is spending tax payer funds to appeal a superior court ordered decision.”

“After the superior court handed down a decisive decision to allow a run for a second term, I thought he would be apologizing not appealing,” Alioto-Pier said . “Mr. Herrera is wasting scarce taxpayer money by pursuing an appeal and attempting to deny voters in my district the choice of all eligible candidates.”
