The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency is expected to approve changes today that will make portions of Hayes and Fell streets two-way thoroughfares.
Hayes Street will go to two-way traffic between Van Ness Avenue and Gough Street, and Fell Street will go two-way between Van Ness Avenue and Franklin Street. Those sections of both streets are currently one-way.
The area where the changes will take place is a heavily used corridor in Hayes Valley, and the proposed alterations are designed at improving traffic flow for automobiles, pedestrians and cyclists.
The SFMTA’s Board of Directors is likely to approve the proposed changes at its 1 p.m. meeting today.
