Cartier — they’re not just about those shadowy jewelry/fragrance commercial anymore!
They’ve already invested in a dozen Olivier Dahan-directed “LOVE”-themed films, even an entire star-studded album three years ago.
But today, Cartier launches a short film called “Painted Love,” a collaboration between New York directors Waverly and ultra-hip French outfit Air.
The movie and a making-of featurette are available on Facebook and YouTube. Or scroll down and watch it below.
“Painted Love” revisits the artist-meets-muse myth of Pygmalion and Galatea, and focuses on a painter in a downtown Manhattan loft in his obsessive quest for love/artistic perfection.
It’s the first in a three-part series of film/music collaborations from Cartier, under the running theme of “How Far Would You Go For Love?”
The complete series will debut in 2012.
Cartier is also co-hosting a worldwide VIP launch party in Tokyo Nov. 25, at the city’s new superclub Sound Museum Vision, at which Air will DJ (along with a DJ set from Gildas and a live concert from Sebastian Tellier).
OK, so they’ve got deep pockets. But the clip is just great — see if you don’t agree.
