Carlos Santana to be honored for city contributions 

The famed guitarist and philanthropist will be honored today for his artistic contributions to The City. The Mexico native and graduate of Mission High School will receive the Mayor’s Art Award. The influential musician and nine-time Grammy Award-winner is the third person to receive the honor from Mayor Gavin Newsom. Sculptor Ruth Asawa and choreographer Alonzo King are previous winners.
