A cab driver was robbed of his phone in Potrero Hill on Thursday by another driver who reportedly tried to cut the cab driver off more than once, police said.

The 64-year-old male victim picked up a fare at 8th and Brannan streets about 2:45 p.m. when he noticed a silver pick-up truck behind him, police said.

The pick-up truck tried to cut the cab driver off, without success at first, and continued to follow the cab to 16th and De Haro streets, where the pick-up pulled in front of the cab and blocked his path, police said.

The cab driver got out and attempted to use his cellphone to take a picture of the suspect and told him he was about to call police.

The suspect pushed the cab driver and took his phone before fleeing in an unknown direction. The suspect was described as a man in his 30s.

No arrest has been made.
