Bumgarner, Posey spark Giants

Opening Day starter Madison Bumgarner threw seven shutout innings to keep his Cactus League ERA a perfect 0.00 and Buster Posey hit a grand slam to carry the Giants to an easy 11-3 victory over the San Diego Padres on Thursday.

Posey’s slam, his first homer of the spring, staked the Giants to a 7-0 lead in the second inning. Bumgarner allowed five hits in running his spring scoreless streak to 17 innings with his longest Cactus League outing.

Hunter Pence had three of the Giants’ 14 hits.
