Brute socks victim, swipes his money

A man was punched in the eye and robbed in the Mission district Wednesday, police said.

The 39-year-old victim was approached by a man in his 30s walking in the opposite direction in the 2100 block of Mission Street about 12:10 a.m., police said. The man demanded the victim’s cash before punching him in the eye, causing the victim to fall to the ground.

The crook bent over and took the money from the victim’s pockets and fled, police said.

The victim refused treatment for his injury, which was not considered life-threatening. No arrest has been made.
