British TV special depicts video-game footage as IRA attack

Britain’s television network ITV admits a documentary about the Irish Republican Army mistakenly used a scene from a video game and claimed it was a real IRA attack. Monday’s broadcast of “Exposure: Gadhafi and the IRA” recalled how deposed Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi supplied the outlawed IRA with weaponry in the mid-1980s. The documentary lifted footage from the Internet that shows a clip from a military simulation game called Arma II. The program falsely described it as footage of a 1988 IRA attack on a British Army helicopter.
