Thinner. Lighter. Faster. That’s how deputies described the brazen bandits that swiped 125 iPads from a Best Buy in San Carlos just before midnight Thursday.

Sheriff’s deputies believe two skinny, swift-operating crooks pried open the front doors with a yellow crowbar, then broke into a security roll-up door using a floor jack.

Once inside, they dragged a steel rack carrying the iPads outside a fire exit door, loaded it into a getaway car and fled, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Ray Lunny said.

Deputies arrived at the store at 1127 Industrial Road “within one minute” of being dispatched, but the suspects were long gone.

One of the bandits is a slim man wearing a black jacket, pants, beanie and white shoes. The other suspect is about 6 feet tall, slim, wearing a black hoodie and pants.

Anyone with information on the grand theft should call Sheriff’s Detective Victor Bertolozzi at (650) 363-44057 or telephone the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Anonymous Tip Line at (800) 547-2700.
