Biden: "Less bad still isn't good."

And furthermore, I do not look like one of the Founding Fathers.  (ap)

You're right -- that is looksist and wrong. But that earlier post about how Joe Biden's vice presidency came about through an apparent coin toss gave Beltway Confidential a hankering to see what the VPOTUS is up to today. It turns out, the usual shenanigans. Biden had a pair of DNC fundraisers today in Florida -- first stop, Boca Raton. From the pool report:

VPOTUS spoke from 1:09 p.m. to 1:40 p.m., but made no big news.

His comments were general about most of his central topics: economy,
world affairs, health care.

"We inherited a Godawful mess."

On international affairs VPOTUS said he has traveled more than "any vice
president in American history" in his first eight months in office.

He defended the bailout of banks even though "our constituents would
rather have us go out and save rattlesnakes in Arizona."

Huh? Anthony Mann of the South Florida Sun Sentinel filed an excellent pool report. He even got the menu: poached salmon, pasta and quiche. Hmm. Quiche. Wine and passion fruit spritzer also were available. Tickets for the event, at the home of Dem fundraiser Mark Gilbert and wife, Nancy, were $1,000, $10,000 and $30,000. Ka-ching.

VPOTUS said people should not underestimate Obama. "This guy's got a
backbone like a ramrod."

On the economy he said, "I don't know of any president who inherited a
more complicated set of data and complicated circumstances."

VPOTUS said things are improving on the economic front. "Everybody's
forgotten" how bad it was eight months ago. "We're getting to the end of
this toboggan run."

         Just saying.
