Plans to shut down two BART stations Wednesday morning during the morning commute were canceled by protesters.
The group No Justice No BART planned a protest that was to run in conjunction with the general strike that has been called for Oakland.
The group posted on Twitter on Tuesday the plans, but a post shortly after on Facebook said the demonstration was canceled.
The Facebook post read:
“We are disappointed to announce that this event is cancelled, because misinformation about it is being spread and because we do not wish to jeopardize the energy of the general strike by discouraging the participation of anyone due to misinformation about our plans.”
The group said it plans a standalone BART protest at a later date.
