BART delays caused by power problems, not heat

Commuters are facing a slower, warmer commute home than usual.

Power problems on the BART tracks in The City this afternoon have been fixed, but they’ve left behind residual 10 to 15 minute delays in and out of San Francisco, according to a dispatcher.

So far there have not been problems caused by the hot weather, which last week led to computer meltdowns and rippling delays throughout the system. However, BART officials have admitted that the air conditioning on fully one-third of the BART cars is broken, so many unlucky riders will have to handle some discomfort.
