Uh-oh. It doesn't sound like former first lady Barbara Bush is a big Sarah Palin fan. The outspoken Bush, in an interview with Larry King of CNN, called the former governor beautiful -- but:
"I sat next to her once. Thought she was beautiful," Barbara Bush said. "And she's very happy in Alaska, and I hope she'll stay there."
Ouch. Is this an early indication of the anticipated Republican establishment backlash against what is sounding more and more like Palin's candidacy for president?
A quick check of Palin's Facebook page reveals no response to Bush's remark, but that's not surprising. Palin is busy -- she has a book coming out on Tuesday and her reality show, "Sarah Palin's Alaska" is showing on TLC.
In the latest episode, Sarah and Todd take Bristol to shoot some skeet. Bristol, frustrated over her lack of sharpshooting skills, tells her mom to "take your prom hair back home." And the former governor, no wimp with a shotgun, advises her daughter, "Don't retreat -- reload."
