San Francisco Ballet Auxiliary celebration: On Nov. 30, members of the San Francisco Ballet Auxiliary and 170 guests gathered at a kickoff event for the troupe’s upcoming season, particularly opening night, slated for Jan. 22. The party, with partial proceeds going to the ballet, was held at the Wilkes Bashford Store in The City.
“How Wine Became Modern” opening: More than 2,000 wine enthusiasts celebrated the opening of “How Wine Became Modern: Design + Wine 1976 to Now” Nov. 19 at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The first exhibition of its kind looks at the contemporary culture of wine and the role that architecture, design and media have played in its transformation over the past three decades.
35th anniversary gala: San Francisco’s Mexican Museum celebrated its 35th anniversary Nov. 20 at the Four Seasons in a gala hosted by mistress of ceremonies Fabiola Kramsky Gascon. Guests included Marion Oettinger of the San Antonio Museum of Art, mezzo soprano Suzanna Guzman, artist Pedro Cervantes and 2010 “El Angel” honorees, donors Ann Rockefeller Roberts and Adriana and Thomas Williams.
