Afghan President Hamid Karzai and International Security Forces commanders condemned a suicide attack today in Kandahar city that killed at least one civilian and wounded six more.
Eight members of the Afghan Security Forces were also wounded in the attack, which damaged a mosque nearby.
“This attack clearly shows how desperate insurgents are to prevent the Afghan people from governing their own stable and free country,” said Rear Admiral Vic Beck, ISAF Director of Public Affairs. “We offer our sincere condolences to the families of the murdered civilian, and wish for a quick recovery for all those wounded in today’s attack. We will continue to work with our Afghan counterparts to ensure that those responsible will be brought to justice.”
