Joseph Barlow, 36, of San Francisco, was arrested this morning in connection with the June 10 shooting death of 40-year-old San Francisco resident Coquiese Walker, police Sgt. Danielle Newman said.
Walker was fatally shot in the 300 block of Turk Street about 11:50 p.m., Newman said.
Barlow, who had been in custody since June 25 on an unrelated charge, was booked on charges of homicide and aggravated assault with a firearm this morning before he was set for release on the prior charge, Newman said.
He was scheduled to be in court this afternoon, but his case has been postponed until Friday morning, Assistant District Attorney Alex Bastian said.
Barlow is currently being held on $5 million bail, Bastian said.
Although there has been an arrest in the case, Newman said, it is still an ongoing investigation, and anyone with further information is encouraged to call (415) 575-4444 or text TIP411 with “SFPD” at the beginning of the message.
A booking photo will not be released at this time, Newman said.
