Just when you thought you had heard the names “Jon and Kate” for the last time comes news that the Gosselins may be — brace yourself — reconciling. Whaaat?!
“They both realize how much they miss each other,” a pal of the parents of eight told Popeater. “Neither one of them have been really happy since their ugly split and would love to turn back time to the point where they were both in love before fame took over.”
Now that he’s given up on his much-mocked playboy persona and taken up an average-Joe job at an energy company — allegedly to impress his ex-wife — “Jon is in a great place,” according to a friend. “He is happy and knows what a fool he made of himself after his split from Kate.”
“After the split the both of them were out of control,” says the source. “Kate thought she was going to be dating Brad Pitt, and Jon was sure he was going to be a superstar. Neither one of them found what they were looking for when they were single and have both come to the conclusion that maybe they are right for each other.”
Or did they maybe come to the conclusion that they were more famous when they were together?
Speaking of family reconciliations, the Cyrus clan may be headed toward harmony once again. Since patriarch Billy Ray declared that daughter Miley’s hit show “Hannah Montana” had “destroyed my family” — a statement that allegedly made her furious, considering he co-starred in the series — he tells People magazine he’s “work[ing] on mending my family right now.”
Referring to his remarks as “explosive, and unintentionally so,” the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer asserts, “My family is the most important thing I have, and we are working together to make sure our future is stronger and healthier.”
However, it may be an uphill battle. A source tells Star magazine that Miley won’t even talk to her dad, confiding, “Right now, she and Billy Ray are pretty much estranged. Miley can’t believe that the father who she was so close to has turned on her like this.”
Perhaps the entire Cyrus family needs to learn that not all publicity is good publicity.
It was only yesterday we shared a British tabloid tale that Rihanna was exchanging flirty texts with Colin Farrell. Now, a new story links her to another Hollywood ladies’ man: Ryan Phillippe.
It was recently reported that RiRi blew off Ryan’s advances when he tried to chat her up at a Los Angeles event. But a source tells Us magazine that in fact the two spent that night together. “And it wasn’t even the first time!” dishes the source.
A source close to the faux-flame-haired singer says “they initially hooked up when things were strained with [her ex-boyfriend] Matt Kemp back in early December.”
On Feb. 19, they met up at a party, and the next day, the “Crash” actor reportedly attended the “Umbrella” singer’s birthday party in L.A. Says a gawker, “They hung out a bit, but were discreet. It is still very casual.”
Another source concludes, “Clearly they’re keeping it on the down-low!”
Well, if that’s the case, they’re apparently not doing a very good job of it.
