Another Muni rider mugged by armed assailant

Two days after a man was assaulted and robbed on an N-Judah train, another public transit passenger was victimized by armed assailants while riding Muni on Thursday night.

The incident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of 23rd Street and Third Street on Muni’s T-Third line. The victim, a 26-year-old male, was sitting on the train when the suspect, a Hispanic male in his mid-20s, sat down next to him, whipped out a knife, and demanded his possessions.

Holding the victim at knifepoint, the suspect stole a cell phone and a gold necklace before fleeing the scene on foot.

No arrests have been made, and police are investigating the incident.
