Angry neighbor annoyed by construction goes too far

A jackhammer. A garbage truck. A lawn mower.

One might curse the clamor they generate early in the morning. But one annoyed neighbor in the Diamond Heights district went beyond profanity to stop it Monday — and is now facing assault charges, police said.

The apparently sleep-deprived San Franciscan spit on and punched the foreman of a new home construction project in the 1600 block of Diamond Street around 8 a.m. Monday, police said.

The “irate” neighbor “yelled at the victim regarding the noise created by a truck that had hauled away a container,” police said.

Cops were called and the foreman opted to press charges, police said.

“The suspect was cited and provided a court date,” police said.

The victim was treated at the scene for his injuries, police said.
