Was Amy Winehouse secretly engaged when she died? A new report claims that after two years of dating, director beau Reg Traviss had proposed, and the late singer accepted.
"Amy spent a week in rehab in June and told loved ones afterward she was determined to quit booze," a source told the U.K.’s Sun. "She was planning her future with Reg and that was playing a huge part in her thinking. Amy was adamant about sorting herself out. Reg’s proposal made her even more determined. She didn’t want to carry on the way she was."
"She wanted nothing more than to be his wife and to start a family with him. She wanted to get rid of her demons so badly," recalled the source. "They openly said they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. They both thought the absolute world of each other."
The couple is said to have planned to wed next year. Sadly, Amy passed away July 23.
"Reg has been with the family every day since. It was clear to see their relationship was genuine," said the source. "It has made the last week all the more painful for Reg. He wanted to spend the rest of his life with her."
Pete’s new gal
Fresh off his divorce from Ashlee Simpson, Pete Wentz appears to be close to singer Bebe Rexha.
The former Fall Out Boy rocker and his Black Cards bandmate were "locking eyes" at an event at a New York bowling alley last week, per a Page Six spy. But they’re just "bandmates, and that is all," a rep insists.
Wentz recently has been seen with different exes, including an outing with Simpson and their 2-year-old son Bronx, as well as a coffee date with ex-girlfriend and "Gossip Girl" actress Michelle Trachtenberg.
Kim likes Vera
Kim Kardashian has announced that her wedding gown will be designed by the ever-elegant Vera Wang, a go-to designer for many red carpet celebrities.
"Vera has been a close family friend for a long time and we had talked about this moment for years," Kris Allen’s bride-to-be blogged. "So when it came to picking my wedding dress designer, she was the first person I thought of."
Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Simpson, Sharon Stone, Uma Therman, Holly Hunter and Victoria Beckham are just some of the many celebrity brides who have waltzed down the aisle in a Wang creation.
