Anthony Robinson, the man suspected by police of being the "underwear burglar" is back on the streets until his next day in court, according to the District Attorney's Office.
Robinson, 55, of San Francisco, pleaded not guilty May 22 to 10 counts in connection with the thefts of lingerie at the Union Square Victoria's Secret Pink store in April and May, Assistant District Attorney Alex Bastian said.
Robinson, who was arrested in February for allegedly stealing or attempting to steal panties and bras from that same store on at least three occasions, was arrested again in May after his release for the February incidents, according to police. After his release from jail, Robinson is alleged to have hit the store four more times until his second arrest on May 20.
Robinson faces one count of robbery, five counts of commercial burglary and four counts of petty theft, Bastian said. Over prosecutors' objections, Robinson was released on his own recognizance after his arraignment and is expected to return to court June 9 for a pretrial conference.
