Alleged Craigslist rapist due to appear in court Tuesday

UPDATE: The District Attorney's Office eventually dismissed all charges against Robert Michael Hoffman.

Who: Robert Michael Hoffman, 50

What: The lawyer and rough-sex enthusiast is due in court today on charges related to an alleged rape.

Up till now: Hoffman, who specializes in workplace sexual harassment claims, was initially accused of raping three women. A judge threw out charges related to one of the women after video contradicted her testimony. Charges related to a second woman were tossed after text messages were deemed inconsistent with her claims to police.

What might happen: Hoffman is set to appear Tuesday for a pretrial hearing. Hoffman’s attorney, Stuart Hanlon, said Monday a plea bargain doesn’t appear likely since his client wants to be cleared of the charges.
