A Sacramento man who posted bail earlier this month after being arrested on suspicion of an armed robbery spree in San Mateo has now apparently bailed on a court hearing.
Delaudea Deshaun Else, 19, posted a $150,000 bond Dec. 14. But on Friday, he failed to show up in San Mateo County Superior Court for a preliminary hearing, county prosecutors said.
Else is suspected of holding up two check-cashing stores and a pawn shop in a four-day period in early December, according to prosecutors.
A man with a silver handgun in his waistband robbed the Check N Go California at 11 a.m. Dec. 5, then tried to rob the California Check Cashing store at the same time the next day, police and prosecutors said. However, the clerk, who was behind bulletproof glass, hit the alarm and ran to a safe room, cops and prosecutors said. A third store, the Best Collateral pawn shop, also was robbed of cash and a laptop.
The investigation led police to a brown minivan seen in surveillance video from one of the stores, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Inside, detectives found Else, a semiautomatic handgun with extra clips, a stolen laptop and $1,200 cash, prosecutors said.
A “no-bail” arrest warrant for Else has now been issued, prosecutors said.
