The actress who tried to take on age discrimination in Hollywood by challenging IMDb, the popular  database, has lost her court battle.

Junie Hoang, 41 (heh-heh), sued IMDb for posting her real age after she had initially submitted a false birth year to appear younger. The Screen Actors Guild also has applied pressure on the site to limit the posting of the ages of industry folks since it apparently can be an impediment to getting hired.

IMDb asserted that the old geezer’s allegations of losing income due to the public airing of her age were “merely speculation,” according to Variety, and that the site was using its First Amendment privilege.

Hoang said she is going to appeal since she sees age as a privacy issue.

“It is like the pink elephant in the room,” she said. “Everyone knows its there.”
