A 75-year-old man was assaulted and robbed of his camera near Pacific Heights on Sunday, police said.

The victim was taking pictures in the 2300 block of Franklin Street about 10:15 a.m. when two men in their 20s approached and demanded the man give up his camera.

One of the thugs brandished a handgun while the other punched the victim several times in the face and took his camera and lens, police said. The crooks fled on foot and no arrest has been made.

The victim's facial injuries were not life threatening, but he was treated at the hospital.
